Team Commonwealth – Commonwealth Insurance Advantage

Since its inception, Team Commonwealth has contributed and/or helped raise over $100,000, and the company’s employees have volunteered over 1,000 hours of their time to a variety of local, regional and national charitable organizations.

Regional Activities

Beginning in 2016, Team Commonwealth’s local and regional events and volunteer initiations have included mountain challenges, tournament sponsorships, run/walk fundraisers, employee charity activity, and veteran honorary events. Due to the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, all of these activities were suspended. As outdoor activities gradually returned in the spring of 2021, the Company resumed a regional golf tournament along with some smaller events.

National Activities

Over the same period of time, Team Commonwealth elevated a few of their activities onto a national stage including MSAA (Multiple Sclerosis Association of America). Another special event, meanwhile, is an ongoing national contest for pets (It’s Fur Charity) that was launched in 2019, but was also suspended during the COVID-19 Pandemic into the summer of 2021. The return of It’s Fur Charity new quarterly format launched in September.

Multiple Sclerosis – National MS Society

In honor of the national MS’s 50th Year, Commonwealth Insurance Advantage elected to again serve as “Presenting Sponsor” of a regional golf tournament as its first, post COVID-19 event in late April 2021. The event was held at the prestigious Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

This year’s event included a Hole-in-One contest that produced three less than 18 inches from the pin shots but not an “ace” overall winner for the Grand Prize of an All-Expense Trip for 2 to Whistling Straits Resort in Wisconsin. The event drew 17 foursomes from the Middle Atlantic area. Between corporate sponsors and the foursome fee packages, the 2021 event raised over $32,000 for the National MS Society.

Commonwealth’s “It’s Fur Charity”

Building on the popularity of Commonwealth Insurance Advantage’s “It’s Fur Charity” for dogs and cats from many regions of the country in 2019, the company recently re-launched its pet photography contest with the announcement of “Finn” (featuring his custom-made yellow scarf with logo) as the Fall 2021 “Best-In-Show” winner.

Commonwealth will also be awarding a quarterly award certificate and contributing a certificate and a check for $250 to the pet shelter of choice by winning pet’s owner.
